mk2 vtr poewer issues

   drives fine most of the time but sometimes if you put your foot down it looses power and just slows down? no lights on dash or nothing any ideas> mk2 vtr

   not sure mate probably a good while ago only owned it for a day, you think a good service may cure this then?
