VTR Mk1 Air Intake query

   I've just got a VTR Mk1 and I'm just trying to work out if this is the original air filter & intake.

   Seems like the original one just needs a breather pipe from the rocker cover to the larger hole or so....

   That sensor on the airbox lid should be plugged in.

   Yeah, I thought that. Can't find anything to plug into it though. Any idea where the wire should be coming from?

   There was a pipe in the glovebox that clearly came from there. Any idea if a missing breather pipe would explain it's over/under revving?

   That sensor is the air temperature sensor my car has the coil pack on the end of the cylinder head at the back of the coil pack theres a brown plug with 2 wires.These wires go to the air temp sensor plug.Not sure on yours as yours has the overhead coil pack.

   hi all
   
   got same engine as above, with the same pipe missing, the bit on the airbox has been blocked up and no pipes going to it. does this make it any better/faster etc? also it stinks of petrol when got window down and its not leaking. could this because of the bit that has been purposly blocked up?? i dont smoke but i bet i soon would if some1 was to spark up in my car lol

   My car has got the same overhead coilpack and I dont recall there being a sensor there?

   same here mine doesn't have a sensor there.... my box only has 2 extra holes on it, ones for the breather and other is for the ICV.
   
   When was at scrappy not to long ago they had an really early vtr in there had the same airbox in it as in OP picture...
