bike carbs

    hi i have a vts engined quicky its been chipped got kent pct50 cams ported and polished head but am thinkin of gettin some mukini bike carbs off a 600cc bike but what would i need to fit them ? many thanks

    bodies own carbs. i wouldnt even bother with carbs

    ok fine, carbs are a backwards step in engineering terms. you'll see decreased economy and have to constantly keep on top of setting them up when the weather changes etc.
    bike bodies can be had for a similar price and will be less effort and produce more power.
    i wouldnt bother with carbs

    This is covered on a few threads on this forum. The first issue you get is actually fitting them to the engine and connecting the throttle up. There are custom parts that you would normally make your self however there are tuners out there who will make them for you. Next issue is connecting up the fuelling and sorting out the air filters. Them some way of controlling the spark map. So normally a stand alone engine management. Then it's setting up the carbs and ignition map. For the money and efforts its not that much further to go to independent throttle bodies so most people just skip the cabs. The carbs also give you MOT problems. If you are looking for some one to make the parts I would happily recommend the Bogg brothers. If you use the search function on the forum there are tones of threads that can give you more detailed information.
