How to fix door lock?

    Just bought a new vtr,the driver side door doesnt work
    When you pull the handle nothing happens and it doesnt seem as if lifting the lock pin makes a differance either. when you put your hand in and grab the bar that is attached to the outer handle it just moves about freely and isnt attached to anything. Anyone any idea how to fix this or what the problem could be? Also is there anyway i could get a better look at is as the hole on the inside of the door isnt very big...

    Sounds like the operating rod has come off the door latch,you`ll have take the doorcard off & the soundproofing sheet.The get a mirror & torch & see whats going on.
