steering wheel squeaks

   when i turn the steering wheel it squeaks what could be causing this cheers

   you checked power steering fluid?
   does it make a sound like the new mini's?

   I had this was because cv boot was buggered

   is it from outside the cabin or actually the steering wheel? its common for the powersteering pump to whine as you turn the wheel

   I know what you mean. My friend had the same problem (stock saxo, std exhaust etc) but it was only noticable on quite day with no talking/music. It was actually coming from the spinny bit that the wheel actually bolts onto - could try packing grease in there if its bothering you?

   if its from the top of the column then chances are its the spiral cassette thingy for the airbag squeaking
