Need some guidance on few problems?
    Hey Peeps
So i've got myself a Saxo 1.6 VTR X-Reg. It runs real good but now and again it has its problems. I've been to garages but sometimes they fix it but the problem comes back a few weeks later.
    Here are the problem :
    1) Where the exhaust connects to engine with a rocker catch. Garage has tried to tighten it and replace parts but still when im in low gears it sqeaks alot, and really starting to get to me.
    2) Engine light comes on. Used to be when I went over 85mph for long period but since I changed coil pack and spark plugs its now fine. But engine light still comes on once in awhile when starting the car in cold weather.

Can anyone help with solutions to these problems. I have a bit of know how and tools for fixing the basics.

#1 have you checked the rest of your exhaust brackets and mounts are not miss-shaped or missing? I have the same issue on my saxo (not just a squeak - I have a loud rattle and vibration caused by a foul with the gear linkages in 1st, 2nd and reverse) and the cause is the mid-section of exhaust is bent and as such doesn't sit where it ought to.

#2 a) Don't complain if you're going to admit to driving at 85mph+ for "long periods". If you have money to burn why not invest it in a nicer car?? b) Have you cleaned the ICV (inlet control valve) i.e. "down-range" of the air box & filter.

Cheers for that. I'll check the inlet out. I'm gonna change the temp sensor aswell and somebody else mentioned it. With the exhaust. The garage has checked it over twice and still it squeaks. They did point out a hole starting near end of exhaust and near middle. So maybe just buying new exhaust might be the way to go as you think it might be bent somewhere.
