Well i currently have a 1.1 box in my VTR and if i change gear at high revs doesnt sound to healthly as it crunches i think but doesnt crunch when change in low revs? so looking to invest in another gearbox, Should i get a VTR or VTS box? as i this is my first VTR and it had a 1.1 gear box so never had a feel for any of those boxes. Im looking for a good pull also so is it worth getting a VTS box?

#2If it had an 1100 box, anything else you fit will feel slow in comparison..

#4Dont know how much boxes go for these days tbh..
The S box is shorter than the R box, why not get another 1100 box they should be cheap as chips? -
#5Aint that good on motorway mate or doing 60/70 which meens higher revs and less petrol and the way petrol prices are going i think i might be better off with a R/S box.Quote:Dont know how much boxes go for these days tbh..

Also whats the top speed on R and S boxes? -
#6vtr has the longest ratios if you want mpg its also what "should" be on the car..
Either box a vtr wont see over a genuine 110/115 dude.. -
#8I have a S box in mine at the minute. Perfect for me quicker acceleration and stillcan do 120mph on the clock but sitting at 70 it still revs a bit.
R box= most economical but dull
S box= bit quicker but still not great on motorways but much better than a 1.1
and btw I am getting a fully refurbished S box for £350 with 12 months warranty
hope this helps -
#9Cheers mate, Just need somthing that will handle the R power ha the 1.1 box seems to struggle and dont like it as could just die anytime, So i will prob look into getting an S box, Dont have £350 so looking to get 1 around £100 markQuote:I have a S box in mine at the minute. #101.1 box wont just die mate, i've been nailing mine for nearly a year no problemQuote:Cheers mate, Just need somthing that will handle the R power ha the 1.1 box seems to struggle and dont like it as could just die anytime, So i will prob look into getting an S box, Dont have £350 so looking to get 1 around £100 mark

but realistically, put a S box on. R box is far too long -
#11Does your gearstick rattle when high revs? not sure if this is normal with a 1.1 box and does sound like its crunching when change high revs
-
#12Before pulling the box out try changing its fluid.
That can take some of the notchiness out. -
#13I was looking to invest in a 1.1 box for my vtr, but there has been alot of threads lately complaining about them.

#17Would be a horrible job on a drive too..
But then i moan about changing my wheels
