2nd gear acting up

   when i put my 02 desire into second gear it seems to have resistance and wont go in smoothly any ideas what this is ? feels as if im pushing it against i duno urmm a peice of rubber or something

   possible gear linkages, maybe rubber at base of stick.
   
   Do you have play in your gear stick when in gear? if so its likely a linkage may be jammed up which will in the end stop you from getting 2nd altogether.
   
   Pop it in a guarage or jump under and fiddle yourself. its a fairly simple job afaik.
   
   Dont go putting it off like i did or your eventually end up with just 3rd and 4th gear

   does it feel like you are trying to force it over to 1st and 2nd or just in second If you are struggling to push it over to go into 1st or 2nd its your gear selector inside the box mine went and had to change the gearbox. If its just one gear it could be a worn mesh or even just a linkage.
   Check your box oil and have someone look at the linkages while you are wabbling the gear stick to see if you can see anything in the way or andthing popping out where it shouldnt.
