Poly sport or Poly race?

  1. #1
    Hi. Looking on www.rallydesign.co.uk...
Could anybody tell me which would be most suited for fast road use. Are poly race too stiff for road use? But at the same time, are poly sport stiff enough?

    Thanks for looking, Jamie.

Ok, thanks guys. They are very cheap though. It makes me wonder about the quality. Saying that, their isn't much option as ive read a few times that powerflex are shite!?

Nothing wrong with powerflex but in my opinion the quality is no better than that of cheaper polyrace/sport items.

I believe that powerflex have had a long period of being the only well known ones on the market prior to polyrace/sport following in the footsteps and therefore the higher cost is only really paying for the more established name.

So by going for the polyrace, im just saving on the brand name. Thats true mate, alot of search results come up with powerflex.
Could anyonw recomend some top mounts? maybe justget some geniuine citroen replacements?

The polyrace ones are absolutely spot on. They dont have as many bushes in their range as powerflex which is the only pain. Polyrace most commonly do front wishbone bushes, and rear beam mounts. Whereas powerflex lower gearbox engine mount, arb bushes aswel.

Nothing wrong with a bit of mix and match either. Polyrace where possible and powerflex to fill the gaps. Bushes so make a great difference to the suspension and is often overlooked by many.

I have found that the RD supplied Poly Sport bushes (Yellow) last longer than the dearer Powerflex bushes, but then we are giving them more abuse than probably anyone else on here....

The Red Polyrace and way too hard for gravel, but ok for possible tarmac, but I know people who have cracked the screens using them....

And the price is PER BUSH.......

Thats most likely true. I wont be hammering the car too hard. It may see a track day or two, but nothing too drastic. I can personaly deal with a harsh ride. Exhaust noise is more of a concern for eveyday use. I'll go for the poly race bushes and fill in any gaps with powerflex as explained.
I allready have a powerflex lower engine bush, but i think ill go for the baker bm full set to tighten everything up. I cracked my 8v manifold using only the lower engine bush, so at the same i hope it will prolong the life of the 16v manifold once the engine is in.
I currently have bilstien b8 damperd with eibach sportline springs. Omp upper and lower braces too. Anything else to pay attention too?
Thanks for the help guys, much apreciated!
