front arch liners

  1. #1
hey guys my arches are rubbing due to a few broken clips and car is lowered 60mm at front, was wondering if any of you guys have removed the front arch liners for road use and have you had any problems if you have? (rust/metal eating through paint/damage to any components etc)

    thanks for any replies

the front arch liners were removed on mine when i got it because it was lowered the amount of mud and crap that got stuck in the wings and everywhere else was a joke what i did on mine was to cut the arch liners down so nowt could get in the wings and hamerited everywhere else works pretty good no rubbing and no more crap getting thru to the inner wings

You can remove them with no probs short term, but if you dont regularly clean the inside of the arches you will start to get problems i.e. rust. It also chucks a shit load of muddy crap up where the door hinges are which can affect those after a while as well

mine had the arch liners removed front and back when i got the car and the wings and door jars really do get quite mucky. also can cause rust in the inner arches especially round the window washer botle area as stones chip the paint off and exposes the metal.

so if you were to remove them i would suggest a good clean and the paint with either underseal or even better use seam sealer as its alot thicker.

also with the back arch liners removed you tend to get a build up of water in the rear lighs which isnt good for your bulbs or electrical circui.

As soon as you remove the front arch liners you are then making your car vulnerable to rust under the ecu and the relay box. Moisture can collect easier in the arches and eat away at the metal. Would highly recommend getting arch liners fitted and the metal treated with wax oil
