using loads of fuel

   Hello people
   
   recently my car seems to be going through loads of petrol
   i dont seem to be driving more than normal and not any different like faster etc, is there anything i can check?

   Yeah ive noticed the same..... but it could be two things..
   1) as petrol prices are going up you are still putting for example a tenner in but not getting as many litres hence the reason why you think your using more....
   
   2) needs a service....

   sure its not the fact your putting £10 in now say and only getting around 7.5 litres, whereas when it was cheaper could get around 9 litres for a tenner. or could be due a good service.
   
   7.5 litres for a tenner is a joke tbh, doesn't last 2 days for me.

   could be the fuel prices going up, but it seems to be going through loads quite recently, like more than i reckon it would just down to fuel prices going up, not sure when it was last serviced, maybe its due one then

   look at your exhaust look for holes

   is there anything i can check, i know petrol prices have gone up etc but this is going through so much fuel, im not even thrashing it or anything, just driving steady and probs getting worse fuel consumption than a vts! is there anything i can look at, exhaust seems to be fine, there doesnt seem to be any leaks etc under the car

    I was getting 23 MPG from my 1.1 mark 1 :> Now i got a MK2 VTR its going at 35ish

    im getting like 35 miles to a tenner, i reckon i got like 70 - 80 from my old vtr

    I get about 50 to the tenner at the mo.. When the petrol prices were low i got around 80-100.

    50 sounds better, but im driving steady etc so not sure whats happening

    i get about 80 miles to a tenner, at £1.30 a litre. i have a 1.4 furio btw.
    
    have you tried anything yet to improve your mpg? looked for any problems or anything yet?

    not sure what to look for really
    might just take it to the garage
    but yeh i reckon in my old vtr i used to get about 80 miles to a tenner, and fuel hasnt gone up that much since then
