Don't really know where to start. Had a pretty long journey recently, and the car was faultless - until I got back home, and started it up the next day.
I turned the ignition and I could hear the starter motor turning the engine - but it wouldn't fire up. Not until the third time, when I had to dab the accelerator pretty far down, and hold it down about half way to keep it idling at 1000-2000rpm.
So I took off for a 3-4 mile drive. All the way during the drive, beginning and end, the car wanted to rev at 2k. I was worried coming to junctions, and dipped the clutch earlier to compensate. Sometimes if I blipped the accelerator once or twice with clutch in, it would return to about 1k rpm, while making me look a tit as if I'm trying to show off...
So I guess the usual suspects are the ICV and coilpack? Any way of diagnosing which is definitely causing the problem? Or just a case of seeing which cures my problem first, starting by cleaning the ICV?
Help! lol
