Grinding whirring noise

  1. #1
as i set off in 1st and sometimes when i change itno 2nd aswell i hear this whirring and grinding noise my first thought is clutch but it doesnt sturggle to set off, drives like normal and the clutch isnt hard to press.

the engine being warm or cold doesnt seem to effect it.

and while stationary in neutral when i left the clutch pedal up there is a whirring rotary noise.

any ideas what the problem is and what can be done?

    thanks

the rotary whirring noise sounds like your clutch release/thrust bearing mate.

the only trouble with them is that when they go they just go with no warning. if you have no brake down cover then your pretty much stuffed.

when you get it changed its best to get a full new kit from valeo or l.u.k. as they are a full comprehensive kit and are the best quality.

if you go for a l.u.k. kit be warned they make a noise for the first 5000 ish miles as they bed in.

im thinking of selling my car in the summer though so is it really worth my spending the extra £100 or whatever on a valeo clutch are the others really that bad?

there is a thread on here somewhere of a techniclutch after 100miles or so and its in about 5 bits.

a quality clutch in a car will help sell it if the buyer is from on here or other saxo sites and looking at your display pic its prob's going to be with how you have modified it.
