trying to gain some extra grunt from a furio

   hi ok ive not got much mechanical knowledge so sorry if i seem a bit thick in this thread,
   
   right i am trying to gain a bit more grunt from my saxo furio now i have been given some ideas along the bike carb route by adding R1 carbs or possible throttle bodies i was wondering if there are any other routes i can go down... and if people know any tuning companies that are reliable and well experienced that can do this work for me or how easy some options are to do on my driveway,,

   The money you spend getting bodies and the cost of mapping them, it's not worth it. When in comparison, you can get a 16v conversion done for a few hundred.

   i went to the breakers yard the other day with a list of what i would need and for the whole thing they guy wanted £550 then id have to pay someone to do the work for me by the time id have it all dropped in and running i was looking at £650 unless there is someone on here selling some stuff and someone that would do work for me or guide me throught it

   Mate in all honesty and i`m nt having a dig at you,either wait until you`ve got enough NCB & BUY a VTS thats 120bhp to start with,or get 100 posts on here go to the for sale section buy an S engine.Theres a few knowledgeable people on here who`eod help you do the conversion.

   its entirely possible to get standard vts power from your 1.4 using standard pug/cit parts but in reality it will be hassle wheras its alot easier to fit a 16valver,however fitting rallye head,cam, inlet to your engine whilst adressing compression ratio and management, last one i did used s2 rallye management, (im not entirely familiar with cit management) should see you at 120bhp so a nice increase, also a nice extra torque increase. as it goes i have all said parts for sale, but being a mission away couldnt really help fitting wise........

   16v conversion is best bang for buck. I agree with everything steve said. A unlocked ecu, vtr block, fuel pump and inlet and loom won't cost you that much on here. Its a simple plug and play job with a unlocked

   vtr block? is it better using the vtr block and 16v head?

    i agree with all the above. 16v is the way to go when you want bang for buck, then you can tune the 16v lump (cam's & remap ect) to give you a health amount of power
