I get a knocking when releasing the clutch.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    ------------Solved------------------------------

It was a loose wishbone mounting nut.

    Thanks for the help.

You sure its the clutch? its something internal and not healthy at all! Id strip the clutch down if i was you and investigate, its your best bet, being like that its going to knock mounts out and god knows what else.

I'm not really sure what it is, but the noise usually comes with taking my foot off the clutch/changing gear. The only other way I can get it to knock is by blipping the throttle.

Out of gear? if it does it out of gear it cant be gearbox i wouldnt have thought, maybe a mount broken somewhere.

It rattles/knocks when releasing the clutch in neutral, but not as badly.

It looks like a broken engine mount, and when the engine hunts at tickover the whole engine moves and the exhaust joint knocks together. When the clutch is in there is a slight drag on the engine preventing it from moving to the same extent.

Just out of curiosity, are you able to hear the knocking noise inside the car?

Could be the release bearing but by the sounds of that its more like a mount, like you said it does it when you blip the throttle (when the engine rocks). Id say a mount probably the lower gearbox mount broken and worn the others. When my mount under the ecu broke it was like yours but not as bad and the car would vibrate badly when acelerating.

Yeah, you can hear in the car while driving around, although it knocks louder when jacked up like in the video.

The lower mount and gearbox mount are new powerflex/Vibratechnics. I checked the ecu mount(standard) and the bolt hadn't snapped, not sure how worn it is.

Not trying to sound funny but are all your mounts tight enough?
