vtr turbo decompression plate

been looking through all the threads about lowing compression for a vtr turbo many people are undecided on witch way is best.

    Mods:
ci tuning manifold and down pipe, with garrate t2 turbo, 5th injector and methonal injection on a mf2 controller, oil cooler and front mount intercooler

looking to run around 8-9 psi, what size decompression plate will be best? and do i use 2 head gaskets either side of the decompression plate?

    thanks josh

use a standard size head gasket and a 1.5mm decomp plate or to be really safe a repair gasket and 1.5mm decomp plate. this will give you rougly 8.5-1 'ish

so is there no need to run to small headgaskets either side of the decompression plate?
where will be the best place to buy a decompression plate?

you use a head gasket on top of the block, then the decomp plate goes onto that. then you seal the decomp plate to head with special sealant..

i bought mine from ferriday engineering and it looks great quality.

lovely cheers... with my set up will 8psi be about right or can i run more boost as i got the 5th injector and methanol injection?

I thought over 8psi youd start to need forged internals

its not always about the boost... its about keeping things cool and getting fueling and ignition right. personally wouldnt go more than 8psi without standalone managements and other coplementry mods.

im using standard internals and ill be mapping mine to around 15psi.

this is what i need to find out.... as been told if im only running 8psi i can use a 1.9mm MLS head gasket on its own or use 2 standard ones together? but then also been told i should use a decomp plate?

    help anyone?
