can i use 2 standard headgaskets together to lower the compression?

or will a 1.9mm MLS headgaskets be enough?

only going to run around 8-9psi

    best ideas anyone?

Yes you can use two headgaskets

what will be better x2 standard headgasket? or x1 1.9mm mls headgasket?

Most people get addicted to boost and tend to up it a bit down the line. So working on that principle two of the thicker repair gaskets would be a better bet. For a DIY setup it also makes it easier to set your car up especially as your only running a mf2.

the mls are more expensive but also safer, standard headgaskets end up being destroyed by boost over time

7-8 psi will be my max limit, rather have it running spot on with less boost so i know im on the safe side of things..been told by some1 at gmc that a 1.9mm mls headgasket will be enough to lower compression for 8psi max. any more psi than that he said i should start thinking about running standalone management as the mf2 can only control the fuel and not all the timing ect

Ok so heres my situation, rather put it on an open thread than make a new one covering the exact same topic.

I am currently doing a turbo conversion on a mk1 vtr, i have nearly everything. but after reading this, my question is,

will i need 2 x 1.9mm msl head gaskets, or just the one, which i have already bought.

The head has been skimmed atleast twice before for sure. so having one head gasket isnt going to be very safe i would of thought? what would be the best option here? two head gaskets, or one head gasket along with a decomp plate?

its not going to be running standalone, it will be mf2 fueled. i also have another question.

basically im struggling to find a sigcon unit, i have the mf2.

would disabling the lambda sensor in the exhuast stop the ECU from trying to rid the excess fuel the 5th injector will be squirting in?

im nearly 100% sure i read that a while back, but it comes with disadvantages like bad fuel economy and ecu light iirc. but if it works so i can boost up to 8 psi with no hesitation then i would sacrifice that for the time being.

some big questions there, but any help would be great!
