Saxo spi not starting? Help please out of ideas now

  1. #1
Right did cambelt on a saxo iv got last week! Ever since it's not started! Now I originally stripped it down ready to replace the hg! Witch turned out to just be a roker cover gasket hence a huge oil leak!

So anyway I decided to just do the cambelt, anyway put it all back together and would it start! It went to a few times but wouldn't fire

So anyway me pretty sure the timing was right etc left it till my next day off (today)

So this morning before trying it again I double checked the timing by locking off the fly wheel and sure enough the head was in the right place aswell so they could be be locked off fine! So timing must be right or they wouldn't match up surely!?

And I never had a problem doing my old mpis the same way

So now I'm stuck! Iv had all the plugs out and cleaned them up! Crank sensor out and cleaned that up! But still nothing!

So now I'm thinking firing order?

ATM I have the leads set up as follows

    1. 4
    3. 2

Is this correct or not? I belive they fire in pairs? So it doesn't matter witch way around they are so long as it's the right pair?

Like a dick I didn't check those before taking the leads off!

    Thanks for Ny help!

Could well be your leads if you didnt check them the leads should be different lengths so only reach a specific point. Also on the coil pack should be some numbers which will match up to the cylinder.

Yea the leads are on the right plug etc it's just the order they plug into the coil pack I'm not sure of lol

can anyone shed any light on why this still wont start?

timing is riht iv checked it over and over again! locked it with pin at flywheel and it also can be locked at the same time on the head so thats right! but is there anything else to chck and see if its defo right or not?

it did almost start onece but then just backfired into the inlet and cut out again!

im replaceing the ignition switch tomorrow becuase i kno thats dodgy anyway due to fans etc not working!

what else could it be? or how can i check the timing another way to make sure its defo right! sounds daft but does the belt have to go on a certain way etc? (obv its in the right direction but i mean is there a certain point on the belt that has to meet with a certain point on the timing? as daft as it sounds! like i said iv done 2 before with no bother so im confused as to why this is being such a cunt!

    cheers for any help!

or where should i start with replaceing bits?

    coil pack?
    crank sensor?
