should be the driveshaft i have the same issue and just got it out of the garage, they said both my driveshafts have gone.
it makes the noise on barely any accel and no accel, once the noise came i then tried it in gear, engine braking, nuetral, dipped clutch and engine off yes off ha i turned it off on the motorway at night (full test then im satisfied what they said its the driveshaft)
replacing both next monday, ill post back the results.
also extra noises are rattling when turning, mainly that annoyingly loud grinding/rubbing O.o does it to me only at 35+ ish then constntly for the journey in most gears / none as stated above.
