MOT failure

    failed on:
    offside front chassis excessively corroded.
    offside rear sill excessively corroded.
    offside rear radius arm pin/bush has excessive play.
    offside rear inner arch excessively corroded.
    horn not working. ..... thats what my middle finger is for lol.
    nearside rear wheel different size.
    exhaust emissions carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon content after 2nd fast idle excessive.
    offside front indicator (orange bulb has faded white).
    nearside front inner wing near strut tower excessively corroded.
    rear brake load sensing valve linkage seized.
    offside rear brake pipe excessively corroded.
    fuel filter insecure.
    offside front lower suspension arm has excessive play in ball joint.
    nearside front drop link linkage has excessive play.
    nearside and offside macpherson strut modified and seriously weakened.

    advisories:
    front and rear numberplates deteriorated but not likely to be misread.
    exhaust noisy.
    both rear indicator bulbs slightly discoloured.
    centre exhaust box has small crack.
    nearside front tyre close to legal limit.
    nearside rear inner wheel arch corroded but not holed.
    nearside rear subframe mounting corroded but not excessive.
    both front chassis rails prescribed corroded but not excessive.
    offside rear inner sill corroded but not excessive.
    offside front arch trim, offside door trim, nearside door trim, nearside front arch trim loose.
    oil leak.
    both front wheels rubbing plastic arch liners on full lock.

    ouch!

    all in all that wouldnt be too bad if your handy with a welder....or a tub of fiberglass and under seal and know what your doing with the suspension and brakes

    if not id break it and cut your losses a if you have to pay someone to do alll that itll probs be more than cars worth tbh

    garage who mot'd it said to strip it and scrap it. like hell i am lol.
    a mate welds, so he will only want a drink , so thats welding sorted. brake pipes were going to get changed for braided ones anyway, and all powerflex bushes etc are gettin fitted too so again not too bothered about that. its just the rear axle and emissions im stuck on (had no cat on it either btw)

    Hm there is no way your car should of failed on that much rust! I reckon you've been seriously screwed over I've never had an mot come back that bad.

    i couldnt care less what he told me, he said to scrap it i told him to fcuk off lol. fair enough he prodded the inner arches a little harder than usual causing them to go thru. never mind all welding will be done with a drink lol .

    imo I would not fix that but if you can get it done cheap why let your pride and joy get scrapped? good on you

    cheers shuggles, if i had a 2nd car to use for work then yes i would have probably stripped it, but because i havent the work will get done really cheap
