well car had mot last week ive got the spax coilovers ( yes i know there shit but where better than the cut springs) well the mot says

(both front) macpherson strut modified and seriously weakend.

the part on the coilovers that are ment to screw onto the hub dont as the thread is broke inside so it spins what could i do to fix this for mot would a spot weld or to be an ok fix

    need help asap thanks liam

Need a proper weld or put std struts on prefferably

Bring it to me, and it will be kindly ignored..

Spot weld snould be alright tbh, hes obviously turning the wheel, checking for play and its just obvious that the strut itself is spinning in the hub. So any way of just holding it down will be alreet.

    Just asky him nicely lol.

I'm always up for a friendly mot tester but I wouldnt want them to just ignore a broken coilover

    Glad you've solved it though

Couldn't agree more, maybe a de-cat would be fine. It wont be long till the tester loses his card if he carries on that way. But for a coilover not to be fitted right can be potentially lethal!

To the OP... you had to grind three bits off the strut to get the bottom cup to screw on? Thats normal... but they never tell you that.
