Important! : Over heating??

   Good day to all.
   
   I have owned my Saxo VTR for about a month now. It's my very first Saxo so I don't know much about them. I can't drive it however untill my insurance renewal in June. But I start it up now and again to make sure everythings a'ok!
   
   Any way I left the saxo running for about 10 minutes and I noticed small plumes of smoke coming from the radiator now and again, is this normal? Also the oil temp gauge is just under halfway, is this what it should be, seeing as its only been running 10 minutes? Seems quite high to me.
   
   
   The thing is though, is it should have plenty of coolant because I just got it serviced and MOT'd... But I'm getting the hunch there a bunch of cowboys lol.
   
   Thoughts and opinions anyone?

   Colour of smoke?
   
   Probably just steam, should warm up to temp in 10 mins.

   Possibly too much coolant in the system so it's venting out the excess. Check the levels.
   Same thing happened to mine when I got an airlock and topped it right up, air got hot and expanded and pushed water out.

   Thanks guys, the smoke does look like steam, or it probably is, just wanting to know the cause of it. Don't want to fork out for a new radiator or something What are your opinions on the temperature gauge being just under halfway? Is that normal to say its pretty much just been idling for 10 minutes, with about 2 minutes driving?
