well i went to go out in my car today and it struggled to turn on i needed to give it some throttle and then when it was on it was really lumpy idle. i drove it up the road and if i was bracking and the went from 3rd gear to 2nd it would drop the revs really quick and cut out and i would need to start the car again??? if im in any gear and put my foot down if im under 3000 revs it struggles to move and the engine misfires alot then as soon as it hits above 3000 revs it goes like normal??

ive tried 2 different idle control valves
    ive got a new coilpack
    ive tried to starter motors
ive tried 2 sets of spark plugs (they both go really black on the bottom like charcoal).

someone please help me im so confussed??

    cheers matt

get a compression test done first of all, i've had a few 16V's that have blown the head gasket between 2 cylinders and have only revved normally when they are getting some revs on. Won't display any other signs of HG failure though as they usually go between 2 centre cylinders and don't get the oil/water mixing problem or overheating

    Could be a blocked cat.

If it sounds like its struggling to run on, it could be running on three cylinders. You could try and pull the coilpack out along with all of the plugs, and sit them on the rocker cover.

Get someone to try and turn the engine over and make sure all of the plugs are firing, but dont touch them unless you like being electrocuted.

Also check your air filter isnt blocked.

first get a compression test, second buy i genuine idle control valve from citroen and install it properly (thats the problem i had it died when u dipped the clutch to change gear and this cured it)
