as title says my handbrake light keeps flashing
did it other day for like 2 seconds but now just popped to get petrol and kept coming on and off

anyone have any ideas of why this is as when its handbrake up and push down the little button stays on for few seconds then goes off

could it be something to do with the wiring to the button if so how do i get to wires??

    if not any other ideas???

i had same problem mine was due to the fact my break linings in rear hub of car needed adjusting, e.g. does you handbreak pull up more than 8 clickes. when i went along a bumpy road the handbrake would rattle causing the switch under the handbrake to bring you light on dash. got rear brake shoes adjusted and now i only have 3 clicks and no more problem with light flashing lol

Have same issue, never really bothered me up till recently..
I believe its down to rear end, mine jumps on and off on bumps or if i take a corner at speed. getting the handbreak adjusted should cure your problem.
Im not going to bother since im fitting new breaks all round so will cure the problem when i come to fitting the rear end breaks/dics.

Deary me. The handbrake + BRAKE FLUID WARNING LIGHT is probably the most important warning light your car gives you. If it spelt it out and said "YOUR BRAKE PEDAL MIGHT AT SOME POINT GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING YOUR BRAKES TO NOT WORK" youd be bothered wouldn't you?

Get the brakes sorted buddy, they're fairly important

whats with the big arse letters? first time with increasing fonts or something?

My pads are shot to shit, my fluid level is perfectly fine. discs/pads are being replaced but my hand break light has flashed on and off since ive owned the car.

My mates saxos do exactly the same so infact it doesnt spell out the breaks are shot to shit, fluid is low, or they are not going to work.
Since i have many mates with the same issue it simply says that the handbreaks/lights are shit on yes.. thats correct a french car.

mine did it when i was heavy cornering. was a tad low on fluid, just enough to move it past the sensor on cornering

either that or your handbrakes knackered

mine did it, the bolt that holds the handbrake in was a bit slack so the leaver sometimes fell off the top of the pressure switch, then the switch broke, check that

filled fluid up it was between min and max so put it back up to max and not had issues so maybe its sorted but giving brakes a full overhall when heats up abit so everything will be getting replaced even if not needed
