Wrong Sensor?

   Right, i was having an idle problem so followed the icv cleaning guide.
   Then i was looking at my sensors as problem persisted, so looking at my engine coolant sensor but i came across this.
   
   
   
   Am i right in saying that the sensor at the top of picture is my engine coolant sensor, but its not green like everyone says or haynes describes. Am i wrong? or is this maybe my problem?
   
   I wanted to replace this sensor first as it was cheapest and i head its most common before looking at replacing map sensor or tps.

   Judging by the bolt on it, it looks very new, it doesn't look standard either as the sensor should look like the one below it :s

   diffrence between the MK1 & MK2 i belive.
   
   You have a MK1 car? but the sensor is a MK2
   
   i had a similar thing with gearbox

   I have a mk2 vtr, i bought the car last may so it hasnt been replaced since then. So this is a normal mk2 temp sensor and i have nothing to worry about is it?

   im not sure mate i just know i had a problem with my revrse light switch as tis a 1.1 gearbox and my current sensor wouldnt go in it so had to snip wires and solder them on lol

   On my 2003 vtr that sensor is green.
