-
#2try unplugging it overnight?
-
#3Disconnect battery for a few hours, although some say 30 mins is enough
-
#4Do not unplug the ecu!!!!!!!!
Unplug the batter from both terminals and leave for anything up to 6 hours then reconnect the battery negative terminal first and bobs your uncle. -
#6if you unplug it there is a chance of you locking the immobiliser and making your ecu useless.
-
#7how can you lock it if youve got the unlock code?
-
#10Didnt know about this.....Quote:if you unplug it there is a chance of you locking the immobiliser and making your ecu useless.
Unplugged and removed mine copletely when doing engine mount under ECU, luckily when finished and plugged back in, all was good.
Glad i didnt see this b4 or wouldnt have done the mount. lol -
#11its not something that happens every time but can happen i have seen it a few times at work and its not worth the risk unless you power the car down correctly before hand.
-
#12that wont happen, when its plugged back in the immobiliser box and chip are present to unlock it again.
now on topic why do you want to reset your ecu? -
#13coz of air bag light wont turn off and my usual garage computer system wont connect and it started to annoy me just coz i changed the seaat belt tensioner and didn't leave battery off long enought be4 i started hopin that i can get it off different way as citreon themselves are also bunch of monkeys
