Thinking of lowering my sax VTR at some point i the near future.

Had a mk2 Astra a few yaers back which i lowered myself , looked well good.

As for these saxos you need to remove the torsion bar and reset the swing arm for the rear.

Heres a vid i came across on u tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAUjQQhpm_I

Its in 2 parts, u are given option 2 watch the 2nd half at the end of the vid.

    Happy Modding

Would of thought about £100-200 for lowering the torsion bar, make sure you get uprated shocks.. pretty easy to do yourself if you have the time, only hard part is getting the torsion bars out coz they can be pretty seized!

If you can do it yourself not a penny lol but if you take it to a garage your talking £150 but most garages wont touch it as its torsion and its more hastle than its worth.

Did you lower yours yourself ? ^^^

iv never lowered the tortion bar in a saxo but the principle is quite straight forward m8, there are guides on the internet to do it yourself, theres suzuki sport guide and badger guide, failing that look on youtube, there is some one u shows you how to lower a pug 306 but basically the same, saves you money m8, i need to replace my axle so lowering it myself

There are a few places which charge £75 upwards for lowering the rear
Could also do it yourself but they can be a barsteward to do sometimes

i charge 70 pounds to lower or raise the rear only, done the proper way not by notches like a lot of places

To be honest, £70 is a bargain for not having the ballache of doing it yourself

really don't know where some people get the idea of prices from for the job, maybe most garages are scared/don't have the know how to sort torsion bars out lol, there you go matey, 2 prices from people who between them have done more torsion bars then you can shake a stick at lol, and both with good reputations!

    Well said.

I think because we know what we're doing, we can do it in about a quarter of the time as anyone else and we've got the right tools (do you get every single tool out to do the job before you start it?)

Shake a stick? ... You and me both could probably do it with our eyes shut (until we need to measure the height... although i tend to get it right with however many pumps of the jack)

What has my life come too? lol

As above. Once uve done it so many times it does become quite easy, but certainly wouldnt even consider doing it that cheaply. And for those who havn't done it before the principal and theory behind it isnt too difficult but in practice it can be bloody awful if you dont have the correct tools of know how

I do regular lowering here in Nuneaton too btw
