Over the last few days me and the brother in law (the brains of the outfit) have been converting my VTR into a VTS so I thought I'd share the memories with you lot and keep the post updated as things progress.
The vts engine was sourced from a local scrappy the car was mashed but the engine was in tact with only 24k on the clock:

Cash was exchanged and we took pretty much everything we could get our hands on including the vts wheels which are soon to be sprayed.
We set about removing the not so pretty vtr engine which wasn't too much hassle apart from the odd rusty nut or bolt:

With the vtr out and hole where the engine once rested you start too wonder if its such a good idea:

The VTS engine and gear box were separated at the scrappy so in out wisdom we decided to drop the engine in through the top and attach the gearbox once the engine was mounted. This proved more time consuming then we thought but our patience finally paid off and the engine was in:
Some of you may notice the lovely shiny manifold? This was a complete nightmare to fit as we used the original studs, which were two long and needed cutting down.
All that remains now is the wiring which is proving quite difficult as there seems to be many differences between the VTR (mk1) & VTS (mk2). We still need to identify what wire does what, if anyone could point us in the direction of a wiring guide that would great.

Were hoping to get it running this weekend so Ill keep you updated on the success.
(I also have a wide variety of VTR/S engine parts so drop me a PM if your in need of anything)
Regards
Steve
