Had a huge knocking noise diagnosed as being the bottom ball joint on the way out. How serious is this? Supposed to be going away but don't want my entire left suspension falling apart on the way.
Cheers!

Not a nightmare. A new balljoint will cost you a tenner or so, and if you take the wishbone off, a garage should swap the balljoints if you do a back-pocket tenner.

Whats the risk of not doing temporarily? Like I say, don't want the whole thing collapsing 100 miles from home =/

If its just knocking slightly, it should be ok, Ive had a few get knackered on me but never had one fail.
Better off getting it done as soon as you can though, just to be safe.

Grinding as well? Normally a grindings either a stuck brake caliper or a fucked wheel bearing.

Its had a new caliper, disc and pad. Slowly running out of ideas lol Had a garage look at it yesterday and they've only pointed out the bottom ball joint.

I would get it sorted ASAP. My previous Saxo had a ball joint faliure, not great going round a bend at 30, loosing steering in one wheel at that speed is never fun. I'm never leaving any sort of knocking to the whole 'I will sort it out later policy' ever again.
Grinding sounds more like a bearing as Gabbastard said! Or the disc?? Balljoints dont make grinding sounds! They knock!
