After market rev counter

   just bought an aftermarket rev counter with shift light,normally they have four wires but mines got five ,two red two black one green ,i know the greens the signal wire are the others just live and earth for illuminating and power,thanks for looking have read up on them in my saxo book but haynes aftermarket rev counter only has four wires instead of five,many thanx

   i would imagine that the green is signal oviously
   
   one pair of red and black should be power to the gauge for the dial and the other pair of black and red will be for the illumination when you put your sidelights on
   
   my one in the mini is the same as above, hope this helps mate

   cheers for reply gaz gonna put it in today just looking at your mini its a beast,my pals got a clubman with a mg metro turbo engine in it ,scares the shit out of me
