gearbox oil

   Hi i am going to change the gearbox oil on my car this week how much oil does it need ? thanks

   Yepp, 2 litres! 75/80 for factory spec but i use 75/90 on race spec (Quaife + LSD)

   If this is used on a standard box would it cause catching when selecting gears? Problem has only occured since i've changed my oil.

   i use 75w90 on a standard box but thats cos i forgot wen i got to the motor factors. spose i should change it for w80

   jw what are the symptons of low gearbox oil and where would is the hole you top it up to ?

   probs a whining noise. and to fill it up look the end of the gear box (passengers inner arch) you'll see two drain plugs one lower and one upper the upper is the refill one.
   
   the w80/90 is just the temp rating

    if you cant get a hold of the special bit to take out the bolts or ring them. pull out a drive shaft to drain and refill at the reverse sensor on top of the gearbox
