quick question about idling

what RPM should a car idle at? mine used to be around 700rpm, but now sits bang on 500 RPM. seems abit low. thats when warm.

All cars are different. My VTR is at 1,000RPM but my 1.1 is around 600rpm.

ah right, still got a lot to learn lol.

is 500rpm too low though? doesn't feel like its going to stall or anything.

I'd say between 500 and 1k rpm is ok, could always slighty adjust the cable

They're meant to idle at around 900/1,000.

Have you got any breathing mods?

My VTR has loads of mods, so it will idle higher.

My 1.1 has mods but the Vacuum hoses are the same, so it idles slightly lower due to the fueling/4-1 manifold etc...

used to idle at around 700-800 rpm, but recently dropped to 500rpm.

no mods, its a standard 1.4 furio.

could changing icv make a difference? as im going to be changing it soon anyway to try sort another problem out.

    Yeh it'll sort it.

Also, could be that it's not making a good connection, I had a problem when it was snowing, moisture kept getting on my ICV and making it idle really low, bit of WD40 on the connector plug fixed it lol.
