vtr electrical/fuse fault

   hi, im trying to work out whats going on with my mark 2 vtr
   
   recently put a new battery in, got engine going and the alternator light was on.
   
   so its not charging.
   
   just looked at it, power steering isn't working, fan isnt working, rev counter isnt working.
   
   the car is not missing.
   
   internal stuff like indicators, horn, wipers...all work...
   
   can anyone help?

   my mate has a vtr with the same problem he took it to citreon and thay said its something wrong in the electronics its a common problem he got told and theres nothing they can do about it

   take the cover off the steering coloum and you will see a brown conector block with to red wires going in one side and two brown wires going in the other
   unplug this and join the two brown wires together do not reconnect the block and hey presto fixed
