removing centre console

   im not being stupid am i, you do have to remove the cd player to remove the centre console dont you ?

   Nope, but you do have to unplug all the connections going into the back of it,
   
   Have you removed the 5 torx bolts, and the 2 heater control arms?

   sorry to interrupt but do you think u could post a link to removeing it i cant find a decend guide. if you know of one thanks

   i think i saw a guide on here once but i cant find it now. i have taken out the glove box so can easily remove all wires going into the back of it, i havent taken out those bolts as yet, but i knew i had to, so you are saying if i unplug all the wires i can pull it all out, which now i think about it makes sense, cheers

   Its far easier/simpler to pull the radio out from the front & then disconnect the radio harness.The Haynes book recommends this way too.
