!6v engine rattle

   My 16v saxo has a nasty rattle when it revs, even if you tap the throttle. I sprayed the aux belt and it would go but come back again so i assumed it was the tensioner so i replaced that but no, replaced the alternator and still no so i took the cambelt cover off and sprayed that belt... it would go and come back. I changed the idler pulley and no cure so now im left to change water pump and tensioner but they havnt even been on there a year???? any ideas??

   Does the crankshaft pulley spin true? When the rubber in them perishes, it often causes them to wobble and eventually split into two.

   Are you sure the cambelt casing hasnt warped???

   Yeh i have taken the hole thing off and ran without and the noise is still there, i think its the water pump gone!
