For a few weeks now my car has been struggling to start, mainly when it is cold. When I turn the key there is a click, then nothing. Turn the key again and it starts turning over but really struggling to start. On saturday it was misfiring when going through the village. The plugs have been changed and that makes no difference, it still struggled to start this morning. Any ideas?

#4mmm have u tried your starter motor?

#5Try crankshaft sensor mate, also check your timing is correct
-
#6Gonna give that a go next mate I think
The timing is right I would say as the car drives fine most of the time, it was just that one day it was missing.Quote:Try crankshaft sensor mate, also check your timing is correct
Just noticed now when I started up outside work to show my boss what was wrong, the exhaust was popping while the car was idle. It did this one day last week as well. It usually pops when I change down and land at around 2k revs but never when it is idle. -
#7Crankshaft sensor or coilpack

#8More likely crank sensor than timing, but its possible for it to run with timing out.
My car was struggling to start for a while then one day wouldnt start at all, in my quest to get it going ive changed spark plugs, coilpack, crank sensor and rebuilt the head due to find 4 bent valves. Runs sweet now
