Have i got FSH?

Basically, my car has done 30,000 miles.

I got the car at 20,000. There had only been 2 services before i got it. One at about 1000 miles, and one at 11,000 miles.

Theres about 6 blank pages. Then on the 7th page is the most recent service i had at 22,000 miles.

What i want to know is, does that still count as Full Service History?

Because the guy probably would have got the service at about 21000 miles if he still owned the car. But he only did 20,000 in the 10 years of owning it, so if he did have yearly services, it would have been at every 2000 miles which is a bit pointless perhaps?

So anyway, does that still count as FSH? Because there has only ever been 3 services on the car, which are all in that log book.

    Thanks

    Ash

no. full service history is as described, full, citroen reccommend a service every year or however many 1000 miles.

for FSH it should have been serviced every year

Ah ok thanks for clearing that one up

But technically speaking, it is FULL because its fully completed for the services it has had? Or not? lol

I disagree, I believe the Saxo service intervals are every 1 year or 12,500 miles so I think what you have does constitute FSH in my opinion.

Services should be done on the mileage you have done in the car and not on the years. If it's garaged for 6 years does that mean you have to do 6 pointless services to keep up the FSH?

Hmm no but if you leave an engine with oil in for a long time the oil can "Eat" away at the bearings and shells, so if it's been stored for years with the same oil, it can be as bad lol.

I thought it was 1 year or 12,500 miles whichever comes first??

EDIT: If you were garaging a car for 6 years im pretty sure FSH would be the last thing on your mind, however i would definitely carry out a service before starting it up after 6 years of standing, as said above, oils can eat at stuff, rubber seals, belts WILL perish with age, mileage only accelerates these things

The 1 yr or 12500 miles are which ever arrives first.

You could do 1000 miles in a year, but all short trips would do more wear to the engine than 10000 miles on the motorway.

Brake fluid would age, oil would get dirty.

The documentation that comes with the car when you buy it should have a service section to be filled in for each 'recommended service' and a stamp on the page when required.

    No it doesn't. lol

If it wasn't doing 10,000-12,500 miles a year, then it should be serviced every year regardless of mileage.
