    just bought my first mk1 VTR and ive noticed the wire that connects to this box/unit isnt connected to it?

    anyone tell me what it is or does? is it an earth?

    Can't quite make it out, But looks like the radio suppressor unit to me.

    If everything is working fine, I wouldn't worry about it. No interference when listening to the radio?

    looks like it comes from injector rail loom tho ? and worried me a tad

    If it's what I think it is, It is bolted onto the coil pack stud to get a decent earth from the block.

    They are really easy to snap when changing a coilpack if you're not careful.

    It definitely looks like the radio noise suppressor anyway mate.

    Has nothing to do with how the car drives. Basically just prevents any interference from the bay interfering with your radio signal.
