Hi guys, I was just wondering if its worth checking my tappets and maybe adjusting them if there out. They tap slightly on idle and up through the revs till about 2,000ish.
Cheers,

NO harm in checking and adjusting them if need be. Should always be part of a service anyway.
Does car run ok? Is it using a surprisingly large amount of fuel?
They're quite tappety engines anyway tbh.

Car runs quite smooth well has recently but occasionally it will be a bit iffy. Funny you should say that lol because a friend who has a VTR (year younger than mine) gets alot more miles to the galleon than I do and he drives it more aggressive than I do (accelerating harder but still only up to 3,000).
Cheers for the reply,
Kurt

sorry for thread rob but do the tappets cause a car to use a massive amount of fuel if not adjusted correctly

well for instance a civic b16 was using 15mpg obviously not normal but could this be a cause of the problem or is there something else that could be causing it to drink so much
