I changed all my front/rear pads and discs yesterday as mine were shot to shit.. anyway long story short..
Rear pads were put on totally wrong, sliders where siezed in place etc etc..
Got breaks done and popped down to guarage without any issues at all, stuck 30quids worth of fuel in the sax and after about 2 minutes the car decided it was going to idle uncontrolably, speed up and slow down when and it it felt like it. I pulled over ripped the throttle bodie out and the ICV, gave both a good clean and replaced.. i done this 2 or 3 times since the problem continued.
After about an hour of faffing about i decided i was totally pissed off and took it to a mate, he suggested it might be the EGR?? valve.. anyway, i decided it shouldnt be that expensive so popped down to local GSF.. the bloke was clueless but told me the valve would cost in the region of 175quid not including vat which i found quite odd since the muppet didnt even have a clue what i was talking about neither could he find it.
Popped to another guarage to get them to try and diagnose the problem, but as soon as the bloke lifted the bonet the car corrected itself and now idles without a problem.
The main issue and the reason for this post.. yes long winded i know but..
When pulling off and coasting in 2nd/3rd there seems to be a weird whering type noise, its hard to explain the noise to be honest.. its not loud and mainly hear it while pulling off. the sax is driving and pulling as normal as far as i am aware.
The best way i could describe the noise is asthough the heat shield is slightly vibrating but being muffled at the same time, its definately not the heat shield as the noise is up front somewhere. I cant hear anything while on idle ive gave everything a good look over and nothing seems loose of rubbing on anything
Im guessing it could be thrust bearing? clutch? anyone got any idea where/what it would be as its making my sax sound like a pile of shit, and after all the work ive done the last week that wasnt what i was trying to achieve
