Passenger Door Lock Knackered...

hey to all, new to the forum but really in need of some assistance...

got a standard 5dr 1.5 D, great wee city car but the lock on the passenger door has now stopped working...

had some issues recently where you could only open the door from the outside but just got on with it instead of fixing it...

anyway the lock is now knackered and the door wont open...

is there anyway of getting the door card off with the door shut or will i have to break it off to get into the lock?

any help/info/tips would be appreciated and i will apologise now if this is a recurring thread...

should prob mention that this is a manual locking car...

It'll be hard getting to it when the doors shut, probably have to take out the passenger seat but what's the point when you can just take out the screws you can then rip off the bottom. :>

as in just rip off the door card...?

i would like to cause as little damage as possible but if thats the only way then it will need to be...

i take it the lock is totally knackered then? when you pull the handle it just feels like its not connected to anything...

again, any help/info or tips would be appreciated...

sounds like linkage has come adrift inside the door, afraid door cards got to come off one way or the other. If you are careful and remove the seat,they will come out with hardly any damage

will give that a try when i get time this week, hopefully i can get it off with as little damage as possible...
