I brought a saxo furio yesterday, in lovely condition with no probs, however the only thing I didn't check before buying was to see if the washers worked. They don't, to much annoyance!!! Has anyone had this problem and is it a quick/easy fix??
Wiper Washers do not work??

#2Welcome to saxp
get pics of your car up pal
If when you press the squirter and you dont hear any kind of pump motor noise then your motor has gone, easy to replace.
£4-10 for motor then self fit by taking driver front wheel off and undoing the flap under the arch to then reveal the water bottle, then open bonnet and hold the water tube ( where you pour water in) and twist it left to unscrew it, then go back underneath and remove the tank and the motor will be a small device slotted in the side just pull it out (beware of water ha)
Hope that helps
On my iphone atm you see... Sorry if any spell mistakes!
If the motor does sound it would be a simple blockage on the stalk, feel around. Let us know

#3Have you checked the fuse? 1st pull off the little plastic flap(passenger side)& the fuses are there. If you`ve got an owners handbook the fuse numbers & what each 1 does will be in there.O`h & welcome to sax-p mate.

Steve.

#4If you CAN'T hear the washer jet motor when there in operation then check the fuse and if thats not blown (which it probably wont be) replace the faulty motor.
If you CAN hear the motor, first make sure jets are not blocked and check around the washer bottle and inside of the car to determine any leaks from a detached/broken pipe
CHECK there is water in the washer bottle -
#5hahaha, to carried away with the fixing and missed the main point...Quote:Welcome to saxp

maybe check the fuse before jumping on to conclusions and saving time fixing something that may work

#6The washer jet motor makes no sound when trying to operate it, checked all the fuses, so I'm under the assumption that the motor has packed up. Having problems finding one from my local scrappys though

#7if theres no noise and the fuse is okay then the pumps the problem.
you wont have to spend any more than a tenner to get one off ebay matey
Just type in 'saxo washer pump' -
#8Got the problem sorted out yesterday. It did need a new washer pump, got one brand new as two of the scrapyards I went to had some, but they didn't work. Took about half hour to do from start to finish - RESULT!
Cheers for the help!!! Just got to get the rattly interior sorted now, lol
