Cat on its way out?

   Just got a Sportex backbox to replace my standard 1.1 one but now I'm getting the burbling and popping like you would with a decat, could my cat be on its way out? If so, although it may sound good, could this in any way affect my fuel economy?

   would of thought thats just the exhaust to be honest unless it started doing it a while after ud already fitted it

   1.1's do have a straight through pipe with no silencer in the centre though so i wouldnt of thought its impossible to get it sounding like that
