my 2000 reg axo 1.4 furio now has the following faults:

passenger door central locking no longer working (fuse all ok, linkages all connected, boot and driver door fine)

    driver door check strap broken

passenger side screen washers not working

knocking noise while idling ( new clutch put on in last six months)

driver side wiper arm somehow bent (wiper now dragging on windscreen tried bending it back but no joy)

washer pump keeps detaching itself from the pipes.

is it worth even getting any of this fixed or do i just get rid???

so you'd consider getting rid of a car for piffling wee things like that?? i'll give you scrap money for it if so

Their minor things,I thought when I read the title it was going to be something like a rusted out saxo or a crash damaged 1.

depends what its gonna cost to fix everything, if it ends up being half the worth of the car then yes. im sick of it its one thing after another, exhaust twice, drum, light cluster, cam belt, clutch, washer pump, door linkage, starter motor, fuses, key fob, driveshaft both sides.

all its gunna take is a trip to a scrap yard and a few hours of your time and some comman sense

theres nothing serious there at all, definately not worth getting rid, just start by doing the ones that are annoying you the most, stuff like the door can be left until you get round to it.

I think people expect a little too much from a rattly French tin can
Saxo's and 106's were not built to today's standards so after 8+ years old they are going to go wrong.

Compared to most people, your issues are so minor

You shouldn't really buy a French car if you're not comfortable with things breaking all the time.

no seriously. Apart from consumables [tyres, exhausts ect and a wheel bearing] Is is all original. And Ive caned it like theres no tomorra.

You must have got a special one then lol. Mine's got about 200 niggly broken things on it from ECU lights to hinges.

Seriously though, caning cars doesn't break them as much as not looking after them - if you do your preventative maintenance and service it properly and then kick the shit out of it they probably survive ok. An awful lot of them have had no care though, which is why they're falling to bits.
