OMP Lower Brace Question

  1. #1
Fitted my lower brace the other day, and it seems that one side is lower than the other.

    Shouldnt it be straight?

Any veiws on this? or anyone had this problem?

    Cheers

I'll have a proper look tomorrow at it, but when i had a quick look this morning it looked like it was on a slant

Did you fit it whilst both wheels were on the ground?

Well i say I fitted it, i went to a garage and chucked them a small fee for them to put it on. I drove on to a ramp so yes wheels would of technically been on the ground. Why is this?

Its not an ARB so shouldn't really make much difference

I thought it would make a difference as it bolts to the wishbone middle bushes, when you tighten them up you need the car on the ground, else you end up wearing your bushes 10x quicker.

    Can you get a picture?

Was the strutbrace 2nd hand or brand new?

Maybe you've hit it on something? I've ruined two strutbraces from hitting stuff.

The OMP strutbraces (the shiney ally ones) i have used in the past have been aluminium, and bend really easy.

You've probably just bent it a little bit when you've caught it on a speedbump. As the metal is reaaalllyy weak (to keep it lightweight). Like i said i've destroyed a few, but their cheap so i just replace them lol.

Just looked at your pictures and it doesn't look too bad. I drove around for ages with one that was worse than that and didn't have any problems. I wouldn't worry too much unless you start hearing any noises.

the first pic from the front is straight after fitting, but the pic from the rear is a day after i hit it. I'll have a listen out for some new noises
