price to change drive shafts?

   not sure if im in the right place but ill ask anyways
   
   my passenger side drive shaft needs replacing (Fubar'd)
   
   The cv boot on drivers side had come off (no idea how long it had been off) so might be worth changing both shafts at the same time..
   
   how much have you guys paid to get these done? (parts + labour)

   been quoted a rather silly amount from citroen garage.. (£380 for both)
   just sounds abit much to me?
   
   any help appreciated

   way too much, parts are approx 160 pounds the pair exchange, we charge 40 pounds labour to fit them

   I got the offside driveshaft for £50 new and then fitting around £35-50 depending on what type of garage, don't go to a well known rep one they charge through the roof.
   
   example: rear beam change i tried 3 well reputed garages they offered £200-800 for a change and i got it done at a local small one for £90 with wheel change and tyre swap overs to new wheels.

   Just changed both on my VTS now, the job of changing them is a piece of piss tbh and the parts where £188 with part exchange for both..... would seriously give it a go yourself if you feel you have the confidence and save the labour charge, i would also make sure that you check the shafts as I had one that hadnt been machined properly and didnt fit right.

   I got the driver's side for £60 and then fitted it for... fuck all D.I.Y mate save yourself the money if you have a good idea what to do!

   scrap yard job i paid £15 for one and there piss easy to fit. take ya bout half hour to fit each one......
