News : problem solved

    hi i had my head overhauled on my mrk1 vts put it all back together but didnt lock the bottom end of,but made sure the grove on the crank was at 6 0'clock, so the marks on the cam belt all matched up,started the car and ther was a banging noise,took the belt of and started again,now i cant even turn the engine over manualy without it get jammed,am i fucked or what??any help pls.cheers


    this was my first post,the problem has now been sorted it turned out to be this second hand coil pack that i bought,i put my old one back on and it sorted it out,its never ran so good,phew lol

    can't figure out how a coil pack stopped it cranking over??

    Yer coil pack will never stop it turning the engine over.

    no the timing was slightley out but when i sortined the timing out it was still making like a banging noise,changed the coil pack then it stoped,it suprised me that a coil pack could do this

    Banging noise? Hmm was it when turning over by hand?

    Did you try start it when the timing was out? And it didn't turn over?
