vibrating accelerator peddle on vts

  1. #1
o.k this is kind of hard to explain without you actually driving my car yourself but here goes.

basically when im driving along and i press my foot down on the accelerator to about 3 n half revs or above and let my foot off a bit so that it is just resting on the peddle and it vibrates as much a mobile phone does (or more) when ringing.......that cant be right can it??!!!

any ideas people. accelerator cable seems to fine. my knowledge does not really go further than that

    thanks.

mine does the same, its not as bad as when i first got the car tho

check the plastic housing what holds the peddle in place isnt damaged
  4. #4
Mine does that also! get used to it after a while
  5. #5
mine used to at 3000 revs but has stopped now

Mine does this too sometimes, I just wiggle my foot round on the peddle and it stops.

lol i like that answer.." i wiggle my foot around "..dont always need to be technical

    thanks guys,

will try the plastic housing, get used to it, spose i could always think of the glass as half full and think of it as a foot massager

    any other ideas please?

do you think citroen will know what it is?

Could be an engine mount? Friend of mine had same problem
  10. #10
Mine does the same when i let off, at least i know i'm not the only one.

o.k guys, well i will try and get it sorted, no matter what it costs as it is annoying the hell outta me, and will let you know if i can fix it.

doesnt affect the perfomance of the car but just makes it an uncomfortable drive :N:

Mine does it too. I'd just say it was a characteristic. You hear of this sort of thing a lot when you read road tests of other cars.
  13. #13
yeah but surely it shouldnt vibtrate that much??!! makes it a more uncomfortable drive than it already is :N:

something is probally lose, dont take it to a garage as theyll bend u over, literally

just try and work it out for urself, get inside the car and look around and see what you think then post here to verify whether that could be it or not.
