1.1 Saxo Revs Dropping and Revving up on idle

   Hi All,
   
   Similar story .. I've been reading the threads for months and finally decided to register.
   
   I have a 1.1 Saxo (1999), when driving and the revs go past 2000rpm they drop to about 1000 then shoot back up to 2000 again making the car jump. It does this constantly making driving it a pain! If you floor it the car picks up the revs as normal, it only seems to happen when at a constant speed.
   
   I've recently replaced the lambda sensor but wondering if anyones had a similar experiance before I start replacing everything?

   tried cleaning the icv?

   I haven't .. I thought because it only happens when driving over 2k rpm (not on idle) that this wouldn't make a difference; I will give it a go though.
   
   Would you have any other sugestions?

   ICV can still rev up more than 2k mine used to rev itself upto 4k!
