Coolant escaping from thermostat

When the engine starts to heat up i get coolant escaping from the thermostat and vapours escaping from the manifold.

Car hasn't been started for about 5 months.

It has a new head gasket+ new water pump, and i'm using coolant+ water mix.

Any ideas? I'm going to check everythings tight on the thermostat, and check to see if i've put too much coolant in :s

You may need a new manifold gasket,and/or a gasket/seal for the thermostat housing.

EDIT: coolant isn't coming out the thero now ( tightn'd the bolt up hehe), however there is a slight drip from the header tank cap, i'm thinking too much coolant?

could well be overfilled, the coolant level i meant to be around halfway down the header tank in the rad,if its brimmed as the engine heats up and the coolant expands, then the waters got escape somewhere
